Sweating It

It's going to go on being sweltery for quite some time. It will get worse next week. I'm on the verge of resorting to wearing shorts. By day I tolerate being indoors because the outdoors is even hotter, but by night I hate the house. It's much better to sit on the back porch listening to the cricket (there's only one chirping this year— I have no idea what happened to the others) than to be stuck in here with my clothes sticking to me. Tonight there'll be a bit of crescent moon visible above the trees for another hour or so, and I'm going to go keep it company. I think the computer wants to nap anyway. It probably doesn't like the heat any more than I do.
