Reset Forty-Nine, Day Three Hundred Forty

Temporal confusions marked Monday, and upon waking from an afternoon nap I forgot when I'd gone to sleep, and seeing half past six on the clock and the pale light shining on the blinds I thought I'd somehow slept all night and it was Tuesday morning. But as it grew darker rather than brighter outside I soon realized it was only Monday evening and I had an entire night ahead of me to fill with... something. I ended up partly filling it with more sleep, and then a big (but late) dinner, and did everything very slowly.

I did forget and leave an empty pan on the stove with the burner on and didn't discover it until it began to stink, but I'm not surprised. I've gotten used to being the stupid old guy I guess. I'm not expecting my brain to regenerate. I'm stupid from here on out, and will undoubtedly get even stupider. At some point, however, I will get so stupid that I'll forget I was ever not stupid, and my stupidized life will seem normal to me. Something to look forward to.

Increasing heat over the next few days, peaking with a high of 82 on Friday, but then...surprise! A 92% chance of rain on Saturday. I could get at least one day with the pollen washed out of the air. A day without sneezes or runny nose is a real luxury in springtime around here anymore. I'll take it. But right now I'm going to take a nap, I hope. There is no acid indigestion to mess with it today, but there is a bit of bloat. Thankful for small favors.
