So January begins with gray sky, relentless rain, and furious wind. I'm pleased. Of course, Napa is underwater, Guerneville soon will be, and it's likely there'll even be some flooding locally, in Butte Creek Canyon. The floods usually wait until later in the year around here. Still we're better off than Oklahoma, which appears to be on fire. I'd rather have the rain. The only drawback is that, at the moment, it sort of smells like a frog out there. I wonder if it's been raining frogs, and I just can't see them because it's dark? That would be interesting. I've always wanted to see a Fortean event.
