Surprise

A few more days of this and I'll be pollinated. The mulberry tree is about to blossom. Oh, there'll be some sneezing then! One of the lily plants is blooming, and the others will soon open. Dogwood and lilac won't be far behind. The evening sky reminded me of dogwood and lilac, in fact, the sunset bringing both red a mauve to the remaining clouds. More nice sunsets are likely on the way, as the clouds will be sticking around for at least a few more days, and the air remains fairly cool. This is the nicest it's been all year. Maybe the astonishment I feel at the belated arrival of spring is what accounts for the fact that ideas are flying in and out of my head as fast as the birds flew from tree to tree all the afternoon.


Couldn't post this for quite a while. Internet went all wonky. It's been iffy for weeks now. The months of heavy rain have screwed up the telephone systems all over Northern California. Some people have been without phone service for as long as five days, because the repair crews are so busy. I guess I'm lucky to have a connection at all.
