Reset Forty, Day Seventeen
Sunday seems a long time ago now. During its last hour I kept falling asleep at the computer. Something happened to time during those catnaps, and when I look at the clock it's one surprise after another. I broke time!
There still isn't any pie, though I keep thinking about it. I hoped some would magically appear in the refrigerator, but apparently the refrigerator is broken too. What good is a refrigerator that doesn't manifest pie when you want it? All it does is keep things cold. That's handy, I suppose, especially since I like beer cold, but still. Is it too much to ask for a little bit of pie now and then? I'm sure I'd have pie if Tesla had invented the refrigerator. Damn Big Refrigeration for suppressing Tesla's refrigerator (if he invented one!)
Right now my nocturnal mockingbird is singing somewhere down the bike path. I go out and listen to him now and then. Mostly then, as I'm indoors now. It's a bit too chilly tonight to have the windows open, and I'm watching music videos on the computer anyway, which would drown the bird out. I've been watching one of the new Tears for Fears videos. It's quite impressive that these old geezers can still make great music. I can't even carry a tune anymore. I guess geezerhood effects different people differently.
