Reset Forty, Day Twenty-One
Very early Thursday morning the wind came up, and I went to sleep with the sound of it in my ears. It grew quite intense, but by the time I woke up the air had become still again. It was a mild and placid day, and nothing much happened, though I did finally make arrangements to have some groceries picked up at Safeway this afternoon. I still have to finish loading the virtual cart with the items that are on sale only Friday, but aside from that I'm done. I hope to get to sleep early tonight, but the odds are not good. They rarely are. I don't feel even a bit sleepy right now.
I still haven't dealt with the call to the lawyer about the money I'll be getting from the class action suit over the fire, but maybe I'll get around to it later today. My brain no longer has that much of a grasp of such things, and so I tend to put them off, and if a blockage of any sort comes up it intensifies my tendency to procrastination. Eventually I'll have to deal with it, but for now, hey, YouTube videos!
We are entering another mini-heat wave today, with highs in the eighties five days in a row, followed by a scorching 91 next Wednesday. But the highest nocturnal low in all that time will be only 58, so I don't feel threatened yet. I'll get through the days if I have cool nights to look forward to. But there's no telling what the later part of May could bring. June is almost certain to bring hellishness, though. Not looking forward to summer.
Sleep, please?
