Reset Forty, Day Twenty-Seven
The fourth may have tried to be with me, but my brain was elsewhere. I remember very little of of the day, though I did get a call from the landlord saying that the water would be off one morning next week while some plumbing repairs are being done. Later I completely lost track of time and forgot to eat, and then ended up making a grilled cheese sandwich for a post-midnight dinner. So, not too bad for a Wednesday.
Briefly I saw the waxing crescent moon Wednesday, but it set just after midnight, by which time it had long since settled behind the large trees on the other side of the bike path. The night sky of the mini-metropolis has been empty since then, though the bright planets Venus, Jupiter and Mars might have risen or be about to rise. I haven't checked, and probably won't, as they don't seem much more impressive than distant streetlights here. Seeing them in so diminished a state would make me sad. I'd rather try to get some sleep.
