51/02b: Seriously, Can't Dance
Given that I skip so many meals anymore, like Friday's dinner, why am I not losing weight? Perhaps I've finally gotten multiple personality disorder and a gluttonous personality is gorging secretly. If so, I have no idea where it would be getting the food, as none of mine appears to be missing— except a couple of bottles of olive oil I can't account for, and those wouldn't have been big enough to keep my ass as fat as it is. But I guess life is full of mysteries, eh? Like why I just ended a sentence with a Canadianism? And am now using the upward inflection of a Valley girl? Gag me with a spoonful of poutine!
It's still cooling off nicely at night, and I'm still enjoying it, though days are still hot enough to trigger the air conditioner in late afternoon or early evening. I might still be sleeping at those times, but I don't remember for sure. All I know for sure is what the Idernet tells me, which is that a cooler spell will be coming up Monday through Wednesday, with some possibility (though not much) of rain showers. It also tells me that the Autumnal Equinox is a week from tomorrow, and that immediately after that, the weather will make one more stab at summering by flirting with triple-digit highs, but probably not quite reaching them. Bang, you're dead, summer. And not a day too soon.
I have decided that I will do an actual full online shopping for groceries on Monday, even though the store lacks any compelling bargains this week. I found that large jars of olive oil are on sale, so I can fill that newly realized need, and probably get a couple of other long-term stock up items at less (but not much) than regular prices. I need to get the order up to a full hundred bucks to beat the online shopping fee, and a little bit more to make sure, just in case something else on my list is unavailable and without an acceptable substitution. This store has a couple of specialty items I almost never buy because of their extravagant price, but this potential shortfall might be anopportunity excuse to indulge myself. I did just sell a millstone of a vacant lot after all, and will be collecting some extra cash. Why not squander a bit in celebration?
Anyway. I've only been awake for about four hours today and not feeling sleepy at all, so I'm probably going to stay awake for a while. If I remember, I might check to see if the laundry room is available, as I have stuff piling up that I really want out of the way. Might as well, can't dance. Might as well, can barely hobble.
