51/104: Rain Due
Cheetos were not one of my go-to snacks when I was a kid, and I probably hadn't had any for sixty years when Safeway made an offer I couldn't refuse a few weeks ago and I snagged three bags. I finished one bag a few days ago and this morning I started on a bag of cheddar jalapeno flavor, and chances are I'm now addicted. What a revoltin' development this is. Second childhood indeed.
I'm also terribly tired. I think I slept about five hours Wednesday afternoon, and then about six more Wednesday night, and I'm sitting here yawning at the gray noon. My guess is I'll sleep through the rain that's coming, and still be tired when I wake up. Maybe I'll eat some dinner between sleeps today. I haven't usually done that lately. I've got about three days of meals stacked up, and I'm fearing they'll start going bad before I can use them up. Food might even have made an appearance in one of my dreams, as I have a vague memory of waking up with an image in my mind of cooking a fish. I don't have any fish though.
The light today is like a blanket of sadness. I'm glad I'll probably sleep through it. If I get any snail mail this afternoon I expect it will get wet in the ill-designed mailbox. But when the rain starts the people across the bike path might take their dog in and it will stop its endless barking. The rain giveth and the rain taketh away. Blessed be the name of the rain.
