Childhood's End

The very first science fiction novel I ever read was "The City and the Stars" by Arthur C. Clarke, who has died in Sri Lanka... tomorrow, from the point of view of my laggard time zone. He was the last of the pioneer SF writers sometimes called the Big Three (Heinlein and Asimov being the other two) and of these was my favorite, by far. RIP, Sir Arthur.

My favourite too - once I was old enough to see how juevenile Heinlien was.
