Gobble Gobble

The traditional Thanksgiving spaghetti was very good this year. There's no pumpkin pie, of course, since that's not something that goes well after spaghetti. But anisette biscotti are every bit as festive, as far as I'm concerned, and they have a satisfying crunch. Crunch is something to be thankful for. I'm also thankful that I don't have to eat turkey.

Outside there's the smell of fireplace smoke on the chilly night air. I don't like the flashback to the summer wildfires it induces. I'm staying indoors. I have to nap off all that pasta anyway.

oh, are you of italian descent? when i lived on long island, an italo-american friend always bemoaned the way her mother would do the full turkey dinner PLUS lasagne, insisting that my friend have seconds on every darn thing. then she'd pick on her for gaining weight. ah, how i love italians.

biscotti, mmmm. i have to dunk them in something, though, as my teeth aren't as invulnerable as they used to be!
