Terrible Setbacks for Clocks and Pagans

I must be just about caught up on sleep now, because I didn't wake up until nearly four o'clock this afternoon. I probably won't need the extra hour I'll get from the annual demise of Daylight Saving Time, which is to take place in a little over two hours.

This has been a perfect night for Halloween, but Halloween skipped this block totally. Not a kid, not a pumpkin, not a drag queen, not even a (totally) black cat. I guess the witches aren't taking over the world after all— at least not this part of the world.

I'm going out to look at the almost-full moon. There will be no candy wrappers to clean up.

it rained lightly here, so the neighborhood was quiet. sorry i missed that moon!

I remember an era when light rain, or even worse, offered no deterrence to the sugar zombies. How sad that even candy lust no longer motivates today's moppets when mild discomfort threatens. What is to become of the sweet world? Will Hershey succumb? Will Mars again be the names merely of a planet and a vanished god? Are swizzles and wax lips to vanish altogether from the earth? Mary See must be weeping in her grave!
