My left ear is ringing. I wish somebody would answer it.

As expected, Thanksgiving was rainy. I'm thankful that there was no snow. I'm also thankful that there's not going to be a huge mess to clean up in the kitchen. Frying a slice of ham is way less chore-making than baking a big chunk of it. Another thing I'm thankful for is that the furnace hasn't quit working. It's been making a clunking noise every time it goes on and off ever since the first time I used it after it got its annual service. Either the service guy did something wrong to it, or some part of it is about to break because it's around ten years old. I will not be thankful for any furnace failure.

I'm thankful that I didn't get a hernia lifting the Thanksgiving Day edition of the newspaper. I'm thankful I won't have to go out and buy any of the stuff in its hundreds of pages of advertising. I'm thankful that Portia is being such an excellent lap-warmer, even though her presence on my lap does mean I have to put my arms into an odd position when using the keyboard. I place a pretty high premium on having toasty thighs.

Also, I'm thankful that LJ is not yet entirely deserted. It's nice to hear about all those turkeys being consumed, and know that I didn't have to eat any of them. Happy digestion to all!

My wife got hold of the paper before I could dispose of it, and was enthralled by all the fabulous deals. Fortunately, I filled her with turkey, and she is now sedate.

I've heard that turkey is a soporific, but I never ate enough of it to feel any different.

i ate no turkey, just Pollo Campero. maybe i already told you that. i'm going to be one of those really scatty old ladies who tell stories over and over, i see it coming.

ringing ears are a pain, for sure. there is no such thing as silence for me now. but at least i can hear, eh? music = good.
