Saturday Is Late

Well, I did it again— fell asleep and didn't post an entry for Saturday. In fact nothing I planned for Saturday happened. I didn't go to the store, didn't get the leaves raked and put into bins, didn't get the laundry done, and it didn't rain (though that wasn't my fault.) Come to think of it, I didn't have dinner, either. And this is going to be a long night, what with the clocks going back. An extra hour in which to contemplate my failures. In the cold.

I'm going to cook some noodles and put lots of butter on them.

26 minutes late on a night with an extra hour in it is especially annoying, though. Why couldn't that hour have been tacked on to Saturday instead of Sunday? Then I'd have had time to spare. It's a conspiracy, I tell you! The clocks are out to get me!

Maybe I ought to have put the buttered noodles on the clocks.

You only put butter on the clock if you want time to slip by. You don't. You want time to stand still for a little bit. You want to put peanut butter on the clocks, not regular butter. Peanut butter, plus noodles is very close to cold sesame noodles, which is the traditional food for the holiday that commemorates the return to standard time from daylight savings time. I bet you didn't know that. You know what? I didn't either until I wrote it.

My sleep schedule has become so irregular that the change in time had no discernible effect on it. Alas.

My attention span wanders. Right now, it's NaNoWriMo ongoing, and I'm writing the great American... uh, pile of dreck. But it's fun! Till it's done, I'll probably be fitful in appearing here.
