Sleepy Grumpy Dopey

There was a buy one, get one free deal on big round loaves of sourdough bread at one of the stores Friday, and couldn't resist it even though I knew it was likely that a lot of bread would go stale before I could eat it. I've been stuffing myself with bread ever since. This evening I figured I should use more of it up for dinner and ended up eating myself sick on bread and butter. I'm still feeling queasy almost five hours later and after a two hour unintentional evening nap. Not to mention sleep doped. Coffee would be nice right now, but I don't dare or I'd be awake until dawn.

Oh, I forgot to put out the wheelie bin. Better do that now.

Bread freezes very well. I often go to Brick Lane in East London to buy fresh-baked authentic Jewish rye bread. If I buy two loaves rather than one, I freeze one and take it out of the freezer when the first one is almost done.

If you slice it beforehand (if it's not sliced) you can take out as many slices as you need and toast them.
