Murder Night

My lawns, which had been getting pretty brown, got turned somewhat green again by the recent rain. The less torrid days we've lately enjoyed have probably helped, lowering the rate of evaporation. In the shadiest parts of the yard the soil is still a bit damp, though that surely won't last for long. The upcoming heat wave, which begins Saturday, is bound to parch everything. Today was actually a bit humid, but the air will get a lot drier starting tomorrow. That's apt to hasten the evaporation, too. Watering season is definitely upon us, I fear.

I must fix dinner a bit earlier tonight, as English people will begin murdering one another on television at nine o'clock. This has nothing to do with Brexit, but if the Leavers win, there will be a lot of investors who'll be wanting to actually murder some actual English people tomorrow.

It's unlikely anybody will get murdered here, though. Except on television, and there, the more the merrier.

Ah, such a delightfully cool evening this is becoming.

Glad you have had some rain! I hope the coming heat doesn't dry out your area dangerously.

As I type, the leavers do seem to be outnumbering the remainers. I bet you're right that there'll be massive anger tomorrow and for quite some time.

They really have. So many people quoted in the press today say things like, "I voted in protest, but I didn't think my vote would count!" Billions of pounds sterling down the tubes overnight. It's crazy.

Why don't these men tame their hair? How hard can it be?

Fat chance of Donald going sane, that's for sure. :/

That article reflects the sense I've been seeing around. I really do hope Americans wake up before they vote.

You know, I wish this current administration had given more heed to Krugman, instead of going with the likes of Geithner at first. I hope Mr. K is right.

I'll read those links, thanks. This is fascinating and scary stuff! My older son and his little family are leaving on Tuesday for a month in England. I hope they find their dollars stronger but nothing otherwise too wildly different from normal. Yikes.
