Celestial Event Transpiring Now

I didn't know this would be happening tonight, or I'd have mentioned it in my earlier post, but I just went outside and saw Mars less than two degrees above and to the right of the gibbous moon. Mars being very close to the Earth right now, (sometime in August, I think, it's going to be the closest it's been for the last 50,000 years,) the sight is particularly impressive. If it's still night wherever you are, go out and take a look.

Not that I'm paranoiac or anything, but somehow it seems faintly disturbing that mars is the closest it has been for the last 50,000. Especially since I keep wandering around thinking 'gee, another sign of the end of days.'

I don't even believe in astrology.

It's interesting, certainly eerie, that Mars is the ancient 'god of war' isn't it? Hmmmm.
