I got my two first-ever spam forwards (as opposed to spam comment notifications) from my LJ e-mail address, both with attachments (which I didn't open, of course.) One originated from an address at "internetica.com.mx" and carried the subject heading "Re:Your archive" and the message "Please read the attached file." The other message was from the domain "email.cz" and was headed merely "Re: Hi" and contained the message "See attached file for details." I'm assuming that both are viruses, as Brad suggested in his recent post in news.

As for the actual virus (or whatever it is) the effects of which I began feeling last night, that isn't entirely gone, nor is it fully developed into anything identifiable. I'm merely logy, and have a scratchy throat and slightly achy, and have a desire to stay warm. Sorry, Sluggo. No open window for you today. The paper cut still hurts. If it was anywhere but a fingertip, I could ignore it. As it is, the only way I can ignore it is if I don't type. Say "Good night," Sluggo!

EDIT: I just noticed that a couple of comments I received as LJ notifications are not showing up on the site. This happened with a comment I myself posted a couple of days ago, and I thought it was an isolated glitch. Apparently not. Is anyone else having this experience?

yes, i've found mail delivery of comments and replies from lj rather wonky for a while. guess i'm lucky not to have received any spam, as you did!

I've actually been getting the LJ notifications regularly (and getting most of them twice, now, since Opera is set up to fetch mail while I'm online, but also to leave the original on the mail server so it is later fetched again by my regular e-mail program, which deletes from the server when fetching) but I've had comments posted for which I have received e-mail notifications, but the comments themselves never appear on LJ's comment pages.

There was a comment left to my previous post for which I received a notification, but which does not appear on the page, and one comment I left in a community the other day never appeared on that page, even though I received the e-mail notification copy of it. Since other comments I've made or which have been made to me are showing up on the pages, I know it isn't just my browser. LJ is failing to display every comment that is being posted. I don't know how widespread this is, but if it happens again, I'll notify support.

Thanks. It's one of those irritating situations in which I'm not actually sick, but not actually well. It might turn into something, and it might just go away. Waiting to see what happens is what annoys me most.

I get to be indecisive! Illnesses should make up their minds!
