Also also: I think my e-mail service bounced a bunch of my mail yesterday morning. Some LJ notifications are missing, but so are some things that were sent from other sources, so I don't think it's just LJ having problems again.

there was a great discovery channel special about that phenomenon called "Megatsunamis" a while back... they spent a good while talking about the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of La Palma off the coast of Africa. that one's gonna be much, much worse. read about it and stuff.

also, I like the hokusai clip they used to illustrate the article you linked.

That wave's going to be really bad for tourism in Cornwall.

I remember these two Hokusai works from the Pasadena Art (Norton Simon) Museum. PAM had a large collection of Japanese prints donated by Frank Lloyd Wright. Some good stuff there.
