Tonight is a blue moon. You know, the second full moon in a particular month. This is the first blue moon to fall on Halloween in almost half a century. I just thought that was interesting. I don't think it portends anything in par... aachccchh urrg ergg....

how come my calendars have the full moon on nov 1st

Perhaps it has to do with the international date line. In California, the full moon is October 31st and (after midnight) November 1st as well. I think that November 1st began in Asia about twenty hours before it will begin here.
