Hating July

These are kill-me-now days. Even in shade, the air is close and sultry. I have the attention span of a gnat, and the energy of a zombie. I curse the hedge of pink roses across the street for its cheerful brightness. Once the sun sets, I open the windows and turn the fan on. I still feel sunburned and groggy. At least I remembered to make iced tea this afternoon, but it's gone now. I'd like to go to sleep and wake up in October. Bleh.

Which begs the question why you don't have air conditioning. But then my MIL on Myers Lane doesn't have it either, as far as I know, and I know how hot the north valley gets in summer. I guess I'm just spoiled here in Florida; I didn't have AC in southern Spain for five of the six years we were there.

Ah...that makes sense then. Damned utility companies.

But we still have August to *look forward* to. Bleh.

And yes, I'm curious too, why not have at least a smaller window AC unit?
