Quickie
What!? Is it ten thirty already? And I'm not even drunk! Time has a way of sneaking out from under me and dropping me into the abyss of entrylessness. Well, it's Friday night so nobody is here anyway. I won't be missed, I'm sure.
Look! It's probably the oldest continuously operating movie theatre in the world. It's in the small town of Mesilla, New Mexico (pop 2180), a suburb of the not-very-large city of Las Cruces. This is a list of the movies they've shown since 1989. Some of those are so obscure that they probably haven't even been seen in Los Angeles or New York. An extreme art house in the middle of nowhere! I do enjoy when the world presents me with the odd and unexpected.

The sunsets there wrap around the sky three times at least and you can lose yourself, pinned by the light against the broken teeth of the Organ Mountains. As for movie theatres, I know nothing, but on the basis of the salt flats and those sunsets, I recommend it.
