Let there be lights

Tonight I have seen two meteors near Orion. It is too cold to stay outside watching for more. I think there was supposed to be a meteor shower tonight, but there was no mention of it in the newspaper. Usually, they give notice of such things in the weather section. The editors seem to have made the connection with the word meteorology. Clever of them. Next year, I think I'll buy a copy of the Old Farmer's Almanac.

Also, I think a goose may have taken a leak on me. At least, I felt something wet fall on me at the same time that I heard a goose honking overhead. Silly goose.

Yes there were meteors, there were something like 20 an hour expected (or something like that) but naturally I couldn't see them because Scotland was covered in a thin haze of cloud, which reflected the neon nicely but was somewhat inappropriate for star gazing. We get these meteor warnings on our weather forcasts, which is nice. Going to have to buy a telescope sometime - mainly to gaze at the planets. I want to see Saturn's rings... although such is Scotland's weather I'd be lucky to see our local chip shop a block away.
