Autumnal, so here's a link harvest

rejectomorphClouds billowing light while the air goes chill in their gray shadow is pretty much what a perfect autumnal sky is all about. We got that most of the afternoon, and then we got gray dusk as the clouds massed and consumed the entire heavens. I'll accept that.
Naturally I spent as little time as possible sitting in front of the computer until after darkness fell, and then got sucked into Internet oddities. Here's some:
Visions of the year 2000 from 1910 An exhibit of 24 chromolithographs illustrating then's future now our past. Site in French. I think there's an English version too, but I couldn't find a link to it.
The Mad vortex, featuring vintage photos, ads, etc. (plus embedded youtube stuff, so BIG FILE warning), and the odd little fragments of text they inspire in those who post them to this very strange weblog. Maybe old meme, but I've never seen it before.
The Curling News, billing itself as the official weblog of the world's official voice of curling. Now that the Canadian dollar is about to exceed the American dollar in value, we'd best get ready to kiss up to the curlers. I, for one, welcome our new curling, hose-headed overlords. Srsly, could it be worse than watching football?
