The evenings cool off nicely, though, and I got a free hour to go out and listen to the crickets as night fell. Two cats came and watched me watch the dusk. The neighbors were mercifully silent.
Then I came in to view the Internets for a few minutes and found Hipkiss' Scanned Old Maps. Goatloads of old maps, all from before 1923 to avoid copyright infringement, and they come from all manner of publications, including some old atlases, many dating back to the 19th century. One of the best map sites I've ever seen. I hope I get some time to explore it.
But now shower time.
