Thinking about the late real estate bubble, it occurred to me to go looking on the Internets for Charles Mackay's 1852 book, Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds, which contains chapters about economic bubbles that burst in earlier centuries. Sure enough, it's available at several web sites, including Project Gutenberg, The Internet Archive (in multiple formats), and even in quick and easy HTML form at Cal Tech. I don't know why I never thought to go looking for it before. I must have been mad and deluded!

I won't spend tonight reading, though. The day was warm and the night has remained balmy thus far, and intermittent winds are kicking up. I want to go out and enjoy the almost spring-like freshness, and listen to the autumn leaves fall in droves with each gust. When seasons collide!
