rejectomorphWhen I was taking my glasses off just now to clean them, they snagged an eyebrow hair and yanked it out by the roots. Why do women pluck their eyebrows? That freaking hurts! I totally understand Whoopie Goldberg's shaved brows.
If the groundhog lived in California, yesterday he'd have popped out of his hole, seen his shadow, and said "Dude, could you put some sunblock on my nose?"
A few minutes ago I heard some coyotes howling and yipping in the apple orchard. They set of every dog in the neighborhood. It sounded like a big kennel. I hope my feral cats aren't in the orchard. It's a good hunting place for cats, and I sometimes see them there. It's been a long time since I've hard coyotes there, though, so the cats probably wouldn't be expecting them. A cat could get up a tree pretty fast, of course, and at least this is a warm night on which to get treed. I'll still be checking the bowl on the porch every few minutes to see if either of them has been back to get a snack.
There's still a chance of rain on Thursday, and now on Friday as well. It's unlikely to be enough to put much of a dent in the drought, but maybe it will keep the lawn from turning brown before March even gets here. Significant snow at the higher elevations, which is what we really need, remains unlikely.
My bank did a bad, bad thing. Hey, why don't they give me a job where I could get an undeserved bonus?! I'm sure I could be as incompetent as any Merrill Lynch executive has been!
