Ground Down

Got a brand new bite. Now that I've had it a few hours, I'm thinking a couple of the molars are a bit high, but then if they got ground down any more some other teeth would probably feel too high, so I intend to just get used to it. In fact I'm thinking about becoming a slack-jawed mouth-breather, so my teeth will only have to actually touch when I'm eating. Slack-jawed mouth-breathers have it easy.

And yes I now have watermelon. Summer is here, solstice or not. Just look at this weather. I'll need something to break the monotony. Don't let it be a fire-starting lightning storm, though.

There are lots of little black spiders now. I obsessively inspect them to see if any are black widows. So far they've just been little black spiders, so I let them live. In return, they'd better get busy eating those mosquitoes that are trying to eat me.

this barge is infested with black widows. I really like their webs, and am not quite as afraid of them as I once was, but now that they are all coming out to play in the warmer weather, I'm glad I will (hopefully) be leaving for good within the week. I thought one of them got me the other day, but the bite didn't have a reaction, it just hurt like hell for a day or so. I guess I just had a run-in with some exotic Cajun insect who took offense to my Yankee presence.

I'd never thought of black widows infesting water craft, but I guess they would find the damp environment congenial.

I've been fond of most arachnids ever since I realized that they trap and kill the mosquitoes who have given me so many hours of itchy discomfort throughout my life. But the venomous spiders with fangs capable of penetrating human skin are unwelcome in my vicinity.
