Later Again

Drat. Another day got away from me. There was something I was going to say and that got away from me too. I'm kept too busy sometimes.

One thing was that ants got into the cat food I leave on the back porch (didn't know ants ate dry cat food. Maybe it was kitty spit they were after.) I cleaned it up, but some of the ants got on me and they've been turning up here and there ever since. It reminds me of when I was ten years old and played in the dirt. I was always picking up ants then.

Portia has taken to staying away all night and turning up at six or seven o'clock in the morning, when I'm ready to go to sleep. Doesn't she know I'm nocturnal?

i don't think cats concern themselves overmuch with our convenience. *g* do you let her in when she shows up in the morning?

i liked les paul and mary ford. in fact, i've probably told you about my distinct and clear memory of being a toddler, carried by my dad on a cold evening, entering the town drug store as the juke box played their "vaya con dios." it's one of those few, rare snapshots that stick in my mind. no doubt it was the music that made it memorable. otherwise, i wouldn't have remembered it at all.

I let her in, but haven't much time to spend with her so late.

I remember going into a hamburger place when I was about six or seven and hearing Les and Mary's How High the Moon playing on the jukebox.
