Break Over

rejectomorphAfter delaying her arrival until after three o'clock in the morning the last three nights, Portia decided to turn up at dusk tonight. She got flea medication a few days ago and is now allowed the run of the house after the fall-inclined nonagenarians have gone to sleep. She's currently napping on my lap, making it difficult to use the keyboard. My shirt cuff periodically brushes her ears, causing her to shake her head sharply, which jars my hand from the correct keys. But she's been remarkably good so far about not walking on the keyboard. Soon I'll have to dislodge her and go take a shower, though. She'll have to go into the back room until I'm done so she won't get in trouble.
The brief period of cooler days is coming to an end. It hasn't lasted as long as predicted. August is not done trying to cook me, but clearly intends to stick the fork in before September arrives.
It's nice having a kitty in the house again.
