Eyes

The nights are cooling faster now, and I keep forgetting to close the windows before the house gets chilly. Well, at least I cane bake things now without worrying about overheating the kitchen. Portia doesn't seem to mind the chilliness. She's been staying out later each night. Some nights she doesn't come back in until after midnight. If being out in the cold reduces her shedding, I'm all for it, as long as she doesn't get into fights.

There could be rain tomorrow. A September rain is always nice. It wills often the ground for digging, and I've got some potatoes that have eyes on them so I'm thinking of planting them. I've never tried growing potatoes before, and have no idea how they'd do here, but it would be shame to waste all those eyes. They'll watch me reproachfully if I do, I'm sure.
