The moon is glazed over with thin clouds. It's a characteristic sight in early spring, but the night is refusing to smell like spring. There's a slightly musty odor to the chill air, like the smell of decaying vegetation. Could this spring's have begun to rot when spring is barely underway? Or is some of last fall's dead vegetation still hanging around? Come to think of it, maybe it's just a phantom smell brought on by a brain tumor. I haven't imagined having a brain tumor in ages. It's about time I imagined having another.
