Hadley's (the biggest date vendor in California) sold packages of Medjool dates stuffed with walnut halves and rolled in a very finely chopped coconut. They probably still have them. I'm not fond of coconut, so I prefer to make my own, stuffed with pecan halves and rolled in powdered almonds, but those are all pretty expensive ingredients so I haven't made them very often.
I can't really see the mountains here, being partway up them and the slope being so gradual, but I always enjoyed seeing the snow on the San Gabriel Mountains when I lived in Los Angeles.
