Forgetful

I made a list of things I wanted to do today so I wouldn't forget any of them but then I forgot I made the list. The stuff I missed today I'll put on the list for tomorrow, along with a reminder to not forget the list.

But today I did get the shaggy lawns mowed. As they probably won't be getting any more water this year this is probably the only mowing they'll need. There can't be much water left in the ground after this string of warm days. That's the one good thing about the drought. Having the mowing done for the entire year in one day makes me feel so accomplished.

This morning I took in our lawn mower in for a Spring tuned up-I do not look forward to mowing our lawn-but we must keep the appearance of being civilized-peace

I don't know how civilized my lawn appears, given that it has so many weeds in it. I'd be happy to let the weeds grow knee high while they are green, but they soon turn brown with the arrival of hot weather and then it is too late to mow them— at least with a power mower— as they have become a fire hazard. The fire hazard is the main reason they must be cut, but I always miss them once they are gone.
