Before Dawn

In moonless wood of starlit shapes
He sleeps his dreamless shadowed sleep.
I, in my waking, watching, waiting,
Ages unwinding, the dreams, I keep.

Brain fry

Every idea I've had for the last couple of days seem to just vanish as soon as I try to put it into words. Maybe I need to leave everything alone for a while- no reading, no distracting television, nothing that clogs my brain with external images. Silence and calm. And maybe a cat. Well, okay, that last part is just making a virtue of necessity- those animals have no intention of letting me get away from them. Good thing I find a purr so relaxing.
