Inexplicably, this machine has been behaving itself for two hours. It is just infuriatingly unpredictable. I don't like to start writing anything long, because it is so likely that I will never get it posted. Then, the blasted thing fails to crash. Oh, Sluggo. What am I going to do with you? This is like living with a psycho. It really makes me wonder about artificial intelligence. It could so easily end up full of artificial madness.

Another small earthquake, shortly after two o'clock. A sound like a sonic boom, followed by a few quivers of the ground and a general rattling of the house. The quake a few weeks ago was stronger, and lasted about twice as long. This was probably an aftershock. Unless, of course, they were both foreshocks of something yet to come. Maybe the Sierra Nevada range is about to grow again.

A rather minor event, under the circumstances, but if anyone is interested in an example of the enduring processes of nature, here is a link to the USGS report on the Paradise earthquake.

Okay, that link refuses to work, even though it is exactly right. Maybe USGS doesn't like anyone coming in a side door. This ought to be the front door.

Wait! I got the first link to work. (Dumb mistake. A line break prevented me from seeing a space where a space didn't belong. HTML is so touchy.)

Sorry

Sorry for the link to USGS that didn't work. It has been fixed, now. Computer was down for about two hours. Now, excuse me, while I go sweep up all the hair I tore from my head. (:-/
