Exhaustion

If I never have to go through another week such as this has been, I will be very grateful.

But I suspect that there will be more.

For now, I'm grateful for a few moments of calm. The rain is falling softly, and, surprisingly, the night is not too cold. I have opened the windows, to freshen the stagnant air, and the sound of the stream running from the downspout is quite as relaxing as the cool breeze. In a while, I will try to get some sleep, and hope that, for a change, it will not be interrupted.

Year crashing to an end.
