It is clouding up. Low, dark clouds which will bring us two days of rain. But these are not Noctilucent Clouds. According to this web site, noctilucent clouds are "clouds at extremely high altitude, about 85km, that literally (as the name suggests) shine at night." There are some very nice pictures. If you click on the "More Pictures" link on their main page, and then on the "back" link at the bottom of that page, you will reach an index with links to even more pictures of noctilucent clouds. Noctilucent. I really like that word.

I found this site by doing a search on "clouds" at google. there were over 2,320,000 results. I could spend the rest of my life looking at web sites from that search and never get to all of them. But I'm glad I found this one.

Foggy Day

The storm has brought a bit of rain and a lot of fog. It also brought a bit of wind early this morning, and the makeshift plastic bag cover I put over my telephone junction box blew aside, so the rain got inside the junction box and now my internet connection has gone bad. For some reason, e-mail comes and goes as easily as when the box is dry, but it is very difficult to get and keep the internet connection. Well, after the storm passes, there are supposed to be a couple of fairly warm days, so it will dry out. But tonight, the snow level is expected to drop to 1000 feet. I'm at 2000 feet, so I might wake up tomorrow to a white world. For now, I'm very much enjoying the fog.

Grrr.
