Such an abundance of weather, yesterday! Rain, wind, fog, all at once. Visible gusts of fog blowing through the bouncing boughs of the pine trees, sudden bursts of rain clattering against the windows; it made up for not getting to go for a walk. All that was missing was a bit of thunder and lightning. But we seldom get those in winter. Spring and fall are the time for thunderstorms here.

After nightfall, the sky began to clear, and now there are stars that look as icy as the air feels, and the moon will not show its thin self until very late. Tea, I think. Yes. Mandarin Orange Spice, I think. Yes.

Three crows flying northeast through the perfectly clear sky, far above the tops of the pines. A moment later, a single crow following them. All were silent. At times, they would briefly flash a slightly silver shimmer of reflected sunlight from their black feathers. Crows look very elegant against the blue of a winter sky.
