I have the feeling I didn't do anything today. I'm probably right.

Down in the orchard, the trees are covered in little green apples. It is a large crop this year. This is also the time of year when the trees begin to sprout branches that leap straight up. They aren't too noticable yet, since they are still covered with leaves. Come fall, they will be exposed, and will give the orchard an oddly punkish look, until they are cut back.

The green apples, the sprouting branches- these are the things that always remind me of the passing of summer, and make me notice that the sun is setting a bit earlier each evening.

Oh, the sunset went by, and I didn't notice it.
