Oops. Kitty tossed her cookies onto the upholstery, the carpet, the case I keep my glasses in, a table, the cable to my headphones, and a pile of CD's. All with one big blow! Wet. salmon-scented kitty barf. That was a big clean-up job. Those jewel cases are going to reek for a long time, I'm afraid. Then, as soon as she was done tossing, kitty wanted to play. I guess she felt better. I didn't. I let her out to chase shadows under the moon. After she came back in, it was back to purring on my lap. Kitties are so cute. I just can't stay mad at them.

After cleaning the kitty chunder, I went online to clean out my neglected mail boxes at Lycos and Excite. The Excite box has begun collecting a bit of spam. After being unchecked for a week, it had accumulated seventeen pieces. After the same amount of time, the Lycos box had gathered over four hundred. Since I've had the Excite box longer, and have posted its address more places on the Internet, you'd think it would be the other way around. Why Lycos addresses act as spam magnets, I don't know, but so they do. I know other Lycos users who have had the same experience. Something is wrong with that company.

My schedule got thrown off rather badly tonight, what with the kitty chunks and a number of other things. I also had a bit of trouble with Sluggo, in spite of the cooler weather. The result is that I've gotten less done than I intended. Ah, well, there's always tomorrow. Or rather, today. After I sleep.

Full moon, but no deer all night.

Dry

No rain. The long term forecast turned out to be wrong. Most of the time, it does. The clouds today are merely decorative. The wind has died down, too, and the fallen leaves lie still and shiny in the bright sunlight. Once in a while, the light dims as a filmy, silver sheet drifts across the sun, and the scene turns as soft as the air. Yet, despite the tranquility, I find myself restless, wishing to be somewhere else. I envy those who are traveling, aimless and free of tasks. Since I must be here, I choose to irrigate the plants. I listen to the water trickling down along the roots of the sourgrass to feed the dark green leaves and the pale purple flowers, and watch the dark patch of dampness spread through the soil like the effect of the rain that didn't come.
