Now and then the rain falls, and sometimes the wind blows, and always the clouds are there, concealing the stars. It has been a blustery night, and cold, and I have spent it making CDs of things on the hard drive which I will want to transfer to the new computer. There remains much to be done, and I think that I'm going to have to find a place to set Sluggo back up so I can continue the project after the new computer arrives. Switching from one machine to another is a massive asspain. When Sluggo was upgraded a few years ago, all that had to be done was to temporarily install his old hard drive (less than a gigabyte) into the new case and move the files onto the new hard drive in one big dump. I didn't have to do it myself. I didn't learn how it was done. I don't know if it could be done with the new computer. Besides, I'm wary of moving the entire contents of a computer that is known to be evil (yes, Sluggo, you) into a computer that may yet be entirely innocent. The likelihood of contamination seems great. So, I do it the hard way.

I wish I enjoyed playing with gadgets.

Part

Part of my order has arrived. Grrr. Well, it has bought Sluggo a reprieve of at least one more day. It is fortunate that the weather continues to be cool. I suppose the other package will arrive tomorrow.

Anyway, I'm now looking at stuff, figuring out which protuberance of which item is to be stuck into which orifice of which other item. This part makes me feel dirty. I don't mind if the domesticated beasts of the neighborhood, or the local wildlife, copulate on my lawn, but I'd rather not be sticking bits of technology together. Why can't they just do this themselves, in the privacy of a factory? Ech!

Another night to make CDs of various and sundry files, and maybe move a bit more junk out of the room. When will they get around to inventing inter-dimensional storage?

The rain tonight is nice, though.
