No Boom

For a while, the night seemed heavily overcast, the stars mostly blotted out. Morning now is breaking bright and mostly clear, a few cirrus clouds catching the rays of the rising sun. As the use of fireworks is forbidden in this highly flammable area, I was hoping for a nice thunderstorm as a substitute. It just doesn't seem like Saint Elizabeth of Portugal Day without flashy explosions.

It's supposed to be trash day, but the trash will not get picked up. Most of the working neighbors will be off work, so it might get noisy. The noise will not compensate for the absence of fireworks. It will be the unpleasant noise of machines. Maybe they'll all go somewhere else to make it, taking their motorbikes and such with them. Maybe there will be no barbecues with the smell of burning flesh drifting on the breeze. Maybe I'll get to sleep.

Next appointment for getting my head yanked is Friday afternoon. Tonight hasn't been too bad, aside from persistent nausea. My hair follicles feel about three times their normal size, though. That's weird.

The Live Trumps Combat Cards site is already getting bogged down by rapid growth, and the combat pages are offline at the moment. So, for now, I guess I'm stuck at level ten. In the meantime, the operators of the site have placed on their apology page an invitation to visit a site called 100 Million Spiders. Arachnophobes need not fear. It is a sort of social networking site, loosely based on the 6 degrees of separation notion. I haven't signed up for it, but I've poked around it for a few minutes and it looks interesting. It has been around for months, but as yet has very few users. It might be fun to see what becomes of it, if it ever takes off. It isn't quite like anything else I've seen on teh Interwebs.

My arse is sore from sitting here. Time for sleep.

Well, I guess I won't be able to sell this thing to pay for my funeral expenses after all. Maybe I can economize on my interment by combining it with the rebuilding of the leech lines for the septic system. Just have them dig part of the hole a bit deeper and toss me in. At least I'll be near the place where my dead cats are buried.

My blog is worth $2,258.16.
How much is your blog worth?

A few more cirrus clouds have formed. They provide a thin, intermittent shade and are helping to prevent the day from being as hot as yesterday. I like the softened shadows they bring. I wish I could have slept a couple more hours, though.

And a happy Rebellion Against Duly Constituted Legal Authority Day to all. God save the King... Republic... President... King!
