Burn

The place has smelled of smoke all night. There must be a wildfire to the south, but I find no news of one on either television or Internet, and it's either too small or too distant to produce red light on the horizon. I guess evacuation of the town is unlikely. Good. I've been sleeping ten or eleven hours a day (though still mostly in two hour or so chunks) and would find any disruption very inconvenient. The sciatica I've lately developed would make it very difficult as well. I'm thinking road back to normal, if passable at all, may be very long.

Faster

Dratted post-eating power outage.

I haven't smelled smoke this afternoon, but that might be only because the wind has shifted. We'll see what the night breeze brings.

There's a flowering, viney bush on the back fence which has orange colored blossoms shaped like bells. The cat has taken to napping at the base of this plant most of the day. The spot gets shade from bush and fence and also a large oak and the walnut tree. It's a very pleasant spot. I find myself growing envious of the cat again. She has better napping spots than I have.

Oh, nodded off again. Almost dark already. The less there is the faster it goes.
