I missed Curse Like a Pirate Day? Crap! And I got my head yanked this afternoon, too-- a perfect occasion on which to say AARRRRHHH! Nothing else about the day was particularly piratey though, or even vaguely nautical. In fact, the local atmosphere grows ever more rustic. The oaks now drop sufficient leaves to keep the ground crunchy underfoot, and each breeze brings forth a crackling sound as they swirl about. Had the day been slightly cooler, it might have been scented by wood smoke. But there are still watermelons in the markets, and the warm days are apt to continue for some time. We're hanging between seasons-- appropriately, I guess, as the equinox is only about 75 hours off now.
Going to go watch Orion rise for a while.
