There's this patch of mostly yellow leaves that has formed on one part of the mulberry tree, high up and to the north, right where the foliage is thinnest, and all the gray afternoon whenever I've glanced out I've seen that bright spot and thought the sun must be coming out. It isn't and hasn't. The clouds have settled earthward, though, so the sky beyond those leaves is bright with their foggy luminance, adding to the illusion. The rain remains intermittent, but everything is now soaked and the moss on the tree trunk has become thick and dark green where only yesterday it was little more than dry, brown scales. Should the rain continue than soon the brown lawn will be green again, too. I'm liking the November weather so far.
