Duller

A couple of houses on my block are already festooned with Christmas lights. One has masses of those clumpy white lights affixed to its eaves, and the other has the same sort of arrangement, but with blue lights- and fairly dark blue, too, which is a very cold color to be looking at on these cold December nights. Still, I find the blue lights considerably less distracting than the white lights up the block. Several other houses will probably be getting lights put up this coming weekend (and there's the house which has Christmas lights in its front window year round, but they haven't been turned on yet this season.) I'm pretty sure that this remains one of those neighborhoods where the war on Christmas is going almost as badly as the war in Iraq, so the nights here are probably about to get much brighter. Unlike me.
