Persists

The apple orchard is now beginning to leaf out, obscuring the white blossoms that had the branches to themselves a few days ago. The day was cloudy again, but brought no rain. My head was cloudy again, too. Then I ate too much at dinner and fell asleep, missing my evening walk. I keep banging my head on spring. Someday soon I'll be found face down in the back yard among the golden poppies, knocked cold by a balmy afternoon.
