I hadn't thought of Bergman and Antonioni being as old as they were (89 and 94, respectively), even though I'd long ago seen movies they'd made as far back as the 1950s. It's odd how people sometimes don't age in your mind, and then one day they end up dead an you're surprised that they died so young—until you read the obituary and are surprised at how old they were.
Note to self: Avoid looking in mirrors tonight.
The still heat still is terribly draining. The evening sky had that haze it's had so often this year. It may have something to do with the dry winter and spring, I suppose. California is probably a bit dustier than usual. Or it might be bits of China. Whatever it is, it lends an ominous quality to the season. I wish it would go away, like July.
