Still Short of Time
Oct. 3rd, 2007 10:48 pmWhen I was a kid I liked Ritz crackers. There were regular Ritz crackers and there were my favorite, Cheese Ritz crackers. I hadn't had Ritz crackers for years, so I decided to pick up a package. There are now more types of Ritz crackers, but the Cheese Ritz crackers no longer exist. Instead, besides the regular Ritz crackers, there are whole wheat Ritz crackers, low sodium Ritz crackers, reduced fat Ritz crackers, and... roasted vegetable Ritz crackers.
Who are you people, and what have you done with my snacks?
Aside from having to munch cheeseless Ritz crackers, another nice day. October might turn out to have lots of nice days. We're right on the edge of the current storm track and can watch the distant clouds drifting by in the north. At dusk I saw a flock of migrating waterfowl—probably geese—heading north. They were very high and their calls were faint. They flew in a rumpling line that made a series of motile glyphs on the deepening blue of the sky. I was unable to read them.
